Makeup for Hot Weather
September 02, 2019Hi Bellas,
In most places, the end of summer means hot and humid. And as temperatures rise, it’s hard to keep your makeup looking cute, especially if you’re active. Unless you're sitting in an air conditioned room, you’re going to get at least a little sweaty, which means your foundation will smear, mascara will run, and your flawless eyeliner will be ruined. But this is why we look to some prominent female athletes for tips and tricks. These talented ladies continue to look radiant even when breaking a serious sweat, which means we could all learn a thing or two from them! Check out their tips below!
Alex Morgan
Alex Morgan is a living icon for women’s soccer. Just last year, she was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and U.S. national team co-captain, alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe. Currently, this stunning star is a forward for the Orlando Pride (and a newly minted World Cup Champion, again).
Last month, Morgan shared some of her beauty essentials with Vanity Fair. She usually opts for a natural look to subtly enhance her gorgeous features. As part of this effort, when traveling, Morgan is sure to pack her light-coverage Tarte Amazonian clay foundation and Pür Cosmetics concealer.
In past interviews, Morgan has indicated that actress Jessica Alba is her beauty icon, and when you look at the two of them it makes perfect sense. Both convey effortless beauty despite putting a bit of work into it. Though remember, Morgan does it while playing a professional sport!
Simone Biles
Simone Biles is an Olympic gold medalist, who captivated audiences worldwide with her incredible moves and beautiful smile throughout the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Incidentally, she also used the games to establish herself as likely the best talent her sport has ever seen!
In March, Biles spoke to Fashionista about her makeup go-tos, revealing that she usually skips on foundation or concealer. “I do my own makeup for meets. My go-to is probably a wing, some mascara, do my brows, nothing fancy. Sometimes eyeshadow, but not a lot,” said the gymnast.
Serena Williams is one of the most decorated tennis players in history. She has more glam slams, by a landslide, than any other player in the WTA. Even now as of this writing, newly available sportsbooks in the U.S. have widely tabbed Serena as a favorite at the U.S. Open yet again - despite the fact that she's about to turn 38 (quite old, in tennis years) and hasn't won a slam since having her first child.
Going beyond makeup, it was also reported back in 2018 that Williams may be trying to find additional success off of the court. The mother-of-one trademarked the name Aneres, leading people to believe that she started her own beauty line. We're guessing it will showcase something with an active vibe to it, as Williams continues to show us how to look our very best even when exercising in high heat.
Lindsey Vonn has had an incredible career as an alpine skier. The beautiful blonde won gold at the 2010 Winter Olympics and racked up four World Cup championships over the course of her illustrious career.
“I actually use the same, whether I’m skiing or not. I use Mac foundation, Bobbi Brown eyeliner, a combination of different eye shadow palettes, Benefit Cosmetics bronzer and the Kylie Cosmetics,” she explained.
Clearly, there are innumerable celebrities out there who demonstrate impeccable makeup tips and tactics. These four, however, teach us some of the best ways to up our beauty game even when conditions may not be ideal. Girl power!
